Biotechnology company INVE Aquaculture has unveiled a new next-generation probiotic wafer aimed at enhancing fish gut health, resilience, and survival during the critical nursery and pre-growing phases.
Sanolife™ PRO-TAB was introduced at the World Aquaculture Society (WAS) Singapore 2026 trade exhibition, which took place from June 2–5, 2026, and brought together fish farmers, researchers, and businesses from across the global aquaculture industry.
This product contains a high concentration of Bacillus probiotics, enabling targeted delivery directly to the fish gut. In addition, it prevents nutrient loss and preserves probiotic viability in water through advanced coating technology.
"Sanolife™ PRO-TAB represents a new generation of probiotic delivery technology that ensures consistent intake, supports gut health, and helps farmers manage the critical nursery stage with greater confidence and efficiency," confirmed Thomas Raynaud, Product Manager for Formulated Diets at INVE Aquaculture.
Fish can now detect, pursue, and ingest the wafers as they sink through the water thanks to their high attractability, which stimulates feeding behavior. As a result, feed efficiency is improved, and cleaner culture systems are maintained.
Sanolife™ PRO-TAB can be delivered manually or via automatic feeding systems, reducing labor requirements and minimizing the risk of human error compared with traditional probiotic powders or tablets.
"A solution like Sanolife™ PRO-TAB helps farmers navigate this sensitive period by ensuring that fish consistently ingest probiotics, maintain strong feeding behavior, and develop greater resistance to pathogenic bacteria. In practice, this translates into healthier fish, improved survival rates, and more stable nursery performance," added Valentina Carbone, Global Technical Expert for Fish at INVE Aquaculture.
