According to the Seafood Stewardship Index 2023, the Nueva Pescanova Group is the most sustainable and responsible fishing company and the second in the global seafood sector.

This Index is elaborated by the World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA) and measures the contribution of the 30 most influential companies in the seafood sector in terms of sustainability.

In more detail, the Spanish company has obtained the best results in product traceability. In addition, WBA underlines how it bases its strategy on sustainability, social responsibility, and transparency in all its operations.

Furthermore, Nueva Pescanova visualizes objectives and deadlines and provides progress information on issues ranging from climate, and social inclusion, to nutrition, among others. Finally, the report places importance on the independent studies on the environment and biodiversity carried out by the company.

The Group is also included in the top 15 of WBA's 2023 Food and Agriculture Benchmark due to its efforts to drive a more sustainable food system and in the top 30 positions in the Nature Benchmark index to contribute to the protection and restoration of ecosystems.
