The technology supplier to the aquaculture industry ScaleAQ has announced the opening of a new facility in Fort William to enhance its presence in the UK and provide more efficient support to the local salmon producers.
"With our new facility, we are looking to expand our team in Scotland to further strengthen our role as a trusted partner to the aquaculture industry," the Norwegian company published on LinkedIn.
In 2014, ScaleAQ established the Marine Engineering department to develop the best technology, engineering, and consulting for marine constructions in the aquaculture industry. In January, Håkon Tønne was hired as Director of Marine Engineering to lead this team of 26 employees.
Specifically, this new department designs engineering for cage constructions and mooring systems, and operational, maintenance, and certification concepts development.
ScaleAQ reported solid growth with a total turnover of NOK 3.4 billion (EUR 287.9 million / USD 316.6 million) in 2023 and promoted Audun Sivertsen Fjeldvær as its new CEO.
