Scotland's turnkey aquaculture equipment, technology, and service supply partner, Gael Force Group, has confirmed the installation of its SeaQure range of aquaculture equipment for Icelandic fish farming company, Hábrún.
With the support of local service provider Sjótækni, the Gael Force team's equipment – including pens and mooring systems – underwent technical analysis to ensure reliability and durability in the Icelandic marine environment.
Sjótækni has led inspections and testing in conditions involving wind, waves, and storms, as well as assessments of floating structures regarding water overtopping in the pens and net deflection.
SeaQureNet HDPE containment nets and bird nets complement the SeaQureMoor mooring grid. These feature a lightweight construction with high breaking strength, aiding in containment and providing effective protection against predators.
The pens are also 120 meters in circumference with 500 mm diameter floatation pipes. One of the newest models, the SeaQurePen Ultra, features a steel structure specifically designed for exposed aquaculture sites.
"We are pleased to support Hábrún in their plans for growth with the introduction of our SeaQurePen Ultra and wider SeaQure range into their operations. We are grateful to Hábrún for placing their trust in us to deliver robust, fit-for-purpose equipment for use on their site," commented Gael Force Sales Manager, Sigurður Steinþórsson.
Additionally, Operations Manager at Hábrún, Mr Kjartansson, said: "We are satisfied with the expertise and commitment to quality shown by Gael Force throughout this project. Their equipment gives us great confidence in the resilience of our containment system, which is essential for operating in the demanding conditions of our environment."
