Inverlussa Marine Services, which specializes in maritime services for the aquaculture industry, will build three new hybrid vessels to further strengthen support for its customers across Scotland.
In 2025, the Scottish company delivered the vessel Naomi Jennifer in collaboration with Macduff Shipyards. Following this successful project, Inverlussa placed an order for a 20-metre-long by 12-metre-beam heavy service catamaran.
The company is also currently developing its fifth vessel in partnership with Nauplius Workboats. This second heavy service vessel will measure 25 metres in length and 10.6 metres in beam.
Furthermore, Inverlussa has announced a partnership with Parkol Marine Engineering for the construction of a 27-metre-long by 11-metre-beam fish feed carrier with a cargo capacity of 400 tonnes.
With these projects, Inverlussa's fleet will expand to 25 vessels by 2027. The new vessels will feature battery-hybrid propulsion systems and IMO Tier III engines, reducing emissions and improving fuel efficiency compared with previous generations.
Finally, all cabins will be equipped with private en-suite bathrooms, including a toilet and shower, providing high-quality onboard accommodation for crew members.
"We believe that one of the strengths of Scottish aquaculture is its commitment to working with local marine companies such as Inverlussa, helping to support employment, investment and the sector's social licence within coastal communities," said Ben Wilson, Managing Director of Inverlussa Marine Services.
Moreover, Tavish Scott, Chief Executive of Salmon Scotland, stated: "Investments like this support employment and skills development in coastal communities, while strengthening the businesses that help make Scotland a world-leading producer of salmon."
