Underwater technology group General Oceans has announced the acquisition of RS Aqua, a leading ocean engineering specialist and the UK's largest ocean technology distributor.

Based in Portsmouth, UK, RS Aqua has over four decades of experience in supplying advanced ocean technology sensors and systems across various sectors, including fish tracking and farm monitoring technologies for the aquaculture industry.

In recent years, General Oceans has rapidly expanded its portfolio with a series of acquisitions, including Tritech International Ltd in 2022 and Klein Marine Systems in 2023. With reported revenues of GBP 62 million (EUR 74.9m / USD 78.8m) in 2023, the group now comprises six operating companies and employs over 300 people across Europe, the UK, the US, and Australia.

General Ocean's brands include Nortek (Norway), Tritech (UK), Reach Robotics (Australia), Strategic Robotics Systems (USA), Klein Marine Systems (USA) and now RS Aqua (UK).
