About the Egg project

Hauge Aqua Solutions AS presented a new robust enclosed technology for industrial fish farming. The aim of the ‘Egg’ was to enable sustainable growth in the aquaculture industry. The shape increases the speed of the water and henced vertical and centripetal forces on particles as the water flows to the top of the tank.

The ‘Egg’ tank is 90% submerged and not visible during operation, whereas 10% is above the water and filled with ventilated air.  The structure is fully enclosed with a dome protecting against the flushing of waves into the unit. Also, it provides a sheltered and safe working area for personnel.
