Therese Log Bergjord, who stepped down from her role as CEO of Skretting on June 1 after seven years at the Nutreco-owned aquafeed company, is taking on a new role serving on the board of directors of Norwegian investment firm Kverva.
In a LinkedIn post announcing her new role, Bergfjord said simply, "I am joining the Board of Directors of Kverva - looking forward to it!"
Kverva, which is backed by SalMar co-founder, the Norwegian billionaire Gustav Witzøe, is a private investment company specialising in aquaculture and marine resources. The firm was originally established in 1991 as the holding company owning SalMar ASA. After SalMar became a publically-traded company, Kverva sold part of its stake to private investors, however Kverva says it remains the largest shareholder in the Norwegian salmon producer.
Bergjord announced she would be resigning from Skretting due to personal reasons in April, saying it was "time for a change".
"I’ve enjoyed every minute of my time at Skretting and as part of the Nutreco leadership team. We’ve achieved so much, and I will continue to champion sustainable aquaculture even as I move onto my next opportunity," Bergjord stated at the time.
Bergfjord was replaced at the helm of the aquafeed firm by Bastiaan van Tilburg, who formally took office as CEO of Skretting on Monday 3 June.
