Norwegian seafood handling, processing and cooling specialist MMC First Process has announced a senior management change, as Lars Erling Krogh steps into the role of CEO from 9 September 2024.

Outgoing CEO Petter Leon Fauske will continue as Business Development Manager and a member of the Company’s senior management team, the company has confirmed.

A "billion kroner company"

“Petter Leon has been a most competent Chief Executive and has lifted MMC First Process to a completely new level during the last five years, making it the most creative and profitable company in the supplier industry,” says Pål Brynsrud, Chairman of the Company’s Board, in a press release.

“We are now a billion-kroner company, with excellent prospects for future growth. In the light of this, we have undertaken a successful reorganisation into autonomous business areas. A natural progression is to organise ourselves so that we strengthen the business areas that will ensure future growth,” Brynsrud explained.

"Our global alliance with Marel, established earlier this year, means the spotlight will be on the Processing area, in particular. Lars Erling has lengthy and relevant experience in the fields of finance, aquaculture and technology. We are extremely pleased to have him in the team,” Brynsrud added.

Goal of improving fish welfare, says new CEO

“I find taking over the role of CEO in MMC First Process both humbling and very motivating. MMC First Process is a “Game Changer”, a leading supplier to the aquaculture industry with an inventive culture and proud tradition of innovation. The Company has the exciting and inspiring goal of improving fish welfare, while making the aquaculture industry more sustainable," Krogh said of his appointment:

"I have worked towards this goal for many years and know that it is a complex and challenging task. There have been many challenges in the market in recent years, but I can see signs of change and improvement and my perception is that the aquaculture industry is now intent on adopting innovative products and solutions," he continued.

"I greatly value the support I have received from Pål and Petter Leon and am confident that we have a mutual understanding of how we can further develop the Company together. The driving forces here are primarily our employees, customers and partners and I am very much looking forward to making a start.”

Fauske moves to "a more hands-on role"

“People, creative drive and enthusiasm have always been my sources of inspiration and motivation. After 20 years as a senior executive I now want to take up a more hands-on role doing what I enjoy most - working creatively in a team environment. I am grateful for the confidence the Board has shown in me and am hugely proud of everything we have achieved together, from the very beginning to merging into the Company we are today and as time went by gaining Credo as fantastic partners,” said outgoing CEO Fauske.

“We have coped very well through tough periods for the industry. 2024 is a challenging year, but we have taken several steps that will lay the groundwork for significant improvement in our results in 2025 and onward. I am looking forward to working closely and well with Lars Erling and the rest of the team, as we further develop this outstanding company with our fantastic colleagues,” Fauske added.
