Pure Salmon Technology announced this week the appointment of Monica Bjørkmo Ringen as its new Project Director. A professional with more than 20 years of experience in Pure Salmon Technology, Krüger Kaldnes, and related companies, such as Billund Aquaculture, the Norwegian recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) firm noted that she is a great team player who champions diversity as a competitive advantage.
Throughout her career, Bjørkmo Ringen has held roles spanning engineering, design, project management, and business development, playing a pivotal role in the aquaculture and process industries for more than three decades. "Her career shows a vision of quality and dedication, where she consistently demonstrated a remarkable ability to tackle complex challenges and bring out the best in those around her," the company said of her.
Ready for her new role after her promotion, Bjørkmo Ringen said that her greatest motivation is to create an environment where team members can grow, develop, and reach their potential. "Effective leadership is also about being a clear and dependable leader, someone who takes responsibility, makes decisions, communicates effectively, and builds trust so the team can work together toward success," she stated.
"The best results come when we leverage diverse skills and perspectives and value each individual's unique contributions," Monica Bjørkmo Ringen continued. Inspiring, supporting, and guiding others towards common goals, helping a team to function at its best, she stressed that her mission is to foster an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and truly supports each other, as this is key to achieving results that exceed what can be achieved individually.
As Project Director, Monica Bjørkmo Ringen will oversee a 19-person department, including project managers, site managers, and a commissioning team, leading the planning, execution, and delivery of Pure Salmon Technology's projects, which span both domestic and international assignments.
Among them is the construction of a facility for Grieg Seafood in Adamselv, a modern plant combining advanced technology, environmentally conscious solutions, and a strong focus on fish welfare for which Pure Salmon Technology is the general contractor for the project and Bluegreen the technology provider.
To do so, Bjørkmo Ringen will deploy what her colleagues define as a natural talent in her, and that is her ability to combine strategic thinking with strong relationships with both customers and suppliers. According to the release on her appointment, her experience and ability to achieve interdisciplinary collaboration, as well as her interaction and work with partners, have made her a respected figure in the industry.
About her new Project Director, Pure Salmon Technology also emphasized that for her, diversity and gender equality in leadership are not just principles, but something she is very passionate about. "Diversity is about more than gender. It's about including people with different backgrounds and perspectives. By doing so, we don't just create better solutions but also stronger and more dynamic organizations," she claimed.
Monica Bjørkmo Ringen defends that true inclusion requires concrete action and stresses that it is about more than good intentions. "We need to build structures that provide equal opportunities for everyone. This isn't just about fairness, but a strategic necessity," she said.
Strongly committed to fostering inclusive environments, she highlighted the economic and cultural benefits of diverse leadership teams. "When we invest in people and create space for different perspectives, we build organizations that are better equipped to succeed in a global market," she concluded.
