Profand closed the financial year 2022 with consolidated figures in which it achieved an increase of 15% compared to 2021, with a total of €929 million. In addition, the Spanish company would have marketed 120,000 tons of fish, an increase of 2%.

The company's efforts during this financial year have been recognized not only for their financial achievements but also for their positive impact on the environment. As part of the sustainability strategy, by 2022, 42% of the energy used by the group came from renewable sources and 82% of the composition of each product tray was made from recycled material.

With these results, the company closed the year 2022 positive and grew at a steady pace. The group has invested €37 million to strengthen its industrial capacity to manufacture value-added products in Spain and to increase the group's fleet in the United States with two vessels.

Furthermore, the business supports and participates in 7 fishery improvement initiatives. All of them try to promote the sustainability of the fisheries where it operates. At the same time, it has several projects in progress, through which it promotes good practices in artisanal fishing, enabling its communities in Senegal, Peru, and Morocco to be more aware of the need to care for the oceans and seas.

Finally, among the highlights of Mercadona's main supplier, one of the leading supermarkets in Spain is its EBITDA. The company closed with a 19% lower EBITDA compared to 2021 because it assumed the costs generated by inflation instead of passing them on to consumers.
