Brim continues to change, and among the latest is a new acquisition. The Icelandic company has purchased the Greenland freezer trawler Tuukkaq from Tuukkaq Trawl AS, a subsidiary of Royal Greenland AS, for DKK 148 million (EUR 20 million/USD 22 million).

A streak of change continues to move forward following its announcement of the closure of the whitefish processing plant at Hafnarfjördur. A few days ago, it announced its plan to merge it with its demersal fish processing plant at Nordurgard in Reykjavík, leaving the other inoperative.

All of these decisions are a response to a complex market situation, and the company is striving to adapt. One example is the plan of the company to sell the Örfirisey RE-4 freezer tug. However, in this particular case, the decisions have a more positive outlook.

The vessel, Þerney RE-3, will begin fishing operations in September. Norway constructed it in 2001, and it measures 66.4 meters in length and 14.6 meters in width.
