The 7th marked the closure of the Global Shrimp Forum 2023, the second edition of this event held in Utrecht, the Netherlands, from September 5th to 7th. Building upon the success of the inaugural edition, this event responded to the challenges posed by the rapid growth in shrimp production over the past decade.

Over these three dynamic days, participants had the chance to network and enjoy themselves and gained invaluable insights into the shrimp industry. The event wrapped up with the closure of the plenary session on "Retail Trends and Consumer Promotion", where attendees collaboratively summarized current global market trends and plan a path for the industry's future.

Throughout the event, different topics took center stage, including decarbonization, shrimp welfare, technology adoption, legislation, finances, and investments. One of the most memorable is the one with Fu-Ci Guo, Fred H. Kao, Guang Jin (Ronnie), and Fang Qing, who provided deep insights into recent developments in the Far East.

But the event's highlights did not end there. On the final day, eFishery and the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) formally solidified their partnership by signing a memorandum of understanding, with their respective CEOs, Gibran Huzaifah and Chris Ninnes, leading the way.

The event posted on social media their gratitude to all the participants for the splendid days and extended an invitation to the next edition of the Global Shrimp Forum in 2024.
