A family-run oyster and mussel farming business in County Kerry, Ireland, is turning working aquaculture into a coastal visitor attraction, with support from government and EU funding.
Nine-month programme by Ireland's seafood development agency BIM "aims to help companies embed NPD as a core strategic function, enabling them to bring new ideas to market more effectively."
The restriction, which also applies to spiny lobster, comes after a comparability assessment of the legislation of countries exporting fishery products to the United States.
The BRICONS project, funded by the Irish Marine Institute and led by University College Dublin, works on native oyster reef restoration in a bid to boost biodiversity and improve coastal management.
