Lerøy Seafood Group ASA has released its trading update for the second quarter of 2024, revealing a total harvest volume of salmon and trout for Q2 2024 of 36,700 GWT (gutted weight tonnes), excluding contributions from Scottish Seafarms. This marks an increase of almost 7,000 tonnes, compared with last year’s Q2 result of 29,700 tonnes.

The best-performing regions were Lerøy Midt, which produced 15,700 tonnes (compared with last year’s 10,000) and Lerøy Sjøtroll, which reached 15,900 tonnes, including 5,300 tonnes of trout (compared with 11,400 and 3,700 last year).

Meanwhile, Lerøy Aurora, the group’s northernmost operation, fared less well during the quarter, producing 5,100 tonnes compared with the total of 8,300 tonnes produced during the same period last year.

Wild catch volumes down

Lerøy Havfisk, the company's wild catch division, reported a total catch volume of 17,800 tonnes for Q2 2024 (compared with 23,700 tonnes in 2023), including 1,500 tonnes of cod (half of last year’s Q2 total, following lower cod quotas for Norway in the Barents Sea).

Lerøy Seafood Group will release the complete Q2 2024 report on August 21, 2024, at 06:30 CET.
