The American upscale grocery chain Erewhon has announced the expansion of its seafood offerings with rainbow trout fillets labeled by the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC), meeting the highest environmental and sustainability standards.

These trout fillets, sourced from Riverence Provisions' land-based farms located in Idaho’s Magic Valley, are free from antibiotics, hormones, and GMOs, and fall under the category of premium-quality seafood.

Additionally, the major seafood wholesaler and ASC-certified Chain of Custody distributor Lusamerica Foods, Inc., is responsible for packaging and distributing the product under the name Erewhon | Responsibly Raised Skin-on Fillets | Rainbow Trout.

"Riverence exists to provide a better source of seafood – responsibly raised and remarkably delicious. Partnering with Erewhon and ASC brings that story to life for value-driven shoppers who care deeply about their food choices," said Todd English, Riverence Provisions Director of Sustainability.

Additionally, ASC's Senior Market Development Manager, Aaron Flamini, noted: "Together, we're offering Erewhon customers more of the options they crave. The ASC label assures the rainbow trout is traceable, raised with care and responsibly sourced, which allows Erewhon's customers to shop with confidence – for people and planet."
