MMC First Process has announced a partnership with Eyvi AS for the delivery of a fish logistic system to Hima Seafood AS's land-based aquaculture plant at Rjukan. During three decades, MMC First Process has been gaining experience by supplying the well boat industry and land-based aquaculture.

Therefore, MMC First Process will provide the Hima Seafood facility with all the equipment and technology related to the transfer of live fish. This system will guarantee the well-being of the fish during all stages, including the growth phase and processing.

Regarding this agreement, CBDO of Eyvi AS, Heidi Kyvik said: "These are important criteria, both for fish welfare in itself and for successful land-based farming of fish for consumption. This installation will be a shop window for us and the whole industry, so it is important to choose a partner who can bring us extensive experience and a history of reliable fish handling."

In addition, Børre Haanes Waagan, Sales Director for Land-based Aquaculture in MMC First Process, explained why this contract is so important for the company: "The system is designed so that Hima Seafood can transport and sort fish whenever required optimizing and allowing the full production capacity of the plant. It can be compared with running a hotel, where well-being and full occupancy give the best results."

Finally, Frank Edvard Vike, CSO Fish Handling in MMC First Process, alerted that this contract could be the first of many and may open doors to more international markets: "We passionately believe that the collaboration now started with Eyvi AS, will also open new opportunities, including Hima Seafood’s enterprise in the USA."
