Nordic Halibut is set to begin operations at its new Tingvoll facility, with the first section scheduled to receive fish in July.

In an operational update, the Norwegian halibut farmer said construction has progressed according to plan during the second quarter of 2026, and that the facility remains on track to become fully operational in 2027.

Tingvoll will play a central role in Nordic Halibut’s production scale-up, as the company targets annual output of 10,350 tonnes head-on gutted by 2031.

The company harvested 201 tonnes during Q2, down from 268 tonnes in the same period of 2025. However, year-to-date harvest volume of 470 tonnes remained in line with its target. Average harvest weight increased to 5.2 kg, from 4.3 kg a year earlier, while the average sales price for fresh, head-on gutted halibut was unchanged at NOK 170 per kg.

Nordic Halibut recorded second-quarter revenue of NOK 30 million from sales of 182 tonnes, compared with sales volume of 191 tonnes in Q2 2025. The quarter’s sales comprised 147 tonnes (HOG) of fresh halibut and 35 tonnes of frozen product.

Meanwhile, the company reports that standing biomass increased by 12.3% from the previous quarter, and, including harvested biomass, total sea-based production reflected growth of 18.8%.

During the quarter,Nordic Halibut also completed its acquisition of Pure Norwegian Seafood from Måsøval, securing full control of the harvesting and processing operations it uses at Averøy. The company also completed the acquisitions of Gulbygget AS and Thule Marine AS, adding further capacity to its value chain.

Nordic Halibut will publish its full second-quarter report on 27 August.
