This acquisition includes 17 feed mills.
The Dutch feed company, De Heus Animal Nutrition, has confirmed the acquisition of South Korean company CJ Feed & Care, part of the CJ Group conglomerate, strengthening its presence in Asia and gaining direct access to the South Korean and Philippine markets.
Already, De Heus has opened a new shrimp feed mill in the Co Chien Industrial Zone, Vinh Long Province, Vietnam, and a new Animal Feed Factory in Punjab, India. This strategic move will also strengthen its presence in other countries such as Indonesia and Cambodia.
Particularly, the feed company emphasized that India is central to the company's global and Asian ambitions, given its "dynamic farming communities and its essential role in feeding the world's most populous nation."
CJ Feed & Care operates in the animal feed, livestock, and agri-technology sectors and has over 50 years of technical and commercial experience in animal nutrition. It is part of CJ CheilJedang, which is the food, biotechnology, and agro-food products division of CJ Group.
"By combining our expertise in animal nutrition, farm management, and animal health with CJ Feed & Care's strong local presence, we can create even greater value for our customers, partners, and the wider sector," said the CEO of parent company Royal De Heus, Gabor Fluit.
Just a month ago, De Heus also opened a new fish feed factory in Njeru, located in the Buikwe district in central Uganda. The new facility will produce up to 100,000 metric tons of fish feed annually, significantly reducing dependence on imports and improving access to feed for fish farmers.
