De Heus Vietnam has signed a cooperation agreement with Minh Phu Seafood Corporation, one of the world’s leading shrimp exporters, to promote a sustainable value chain for the shrimp industry in the Southeast Asian country.

De Heus Vietnam, the Vietnamese subsidiary of De Heus Animal Nutrition, will provide advanced nutritional solutions, high-quality aquafeed, and technical support. At the same time, Minh Phu will use these products across all of its farming areas.

In October, the De Heus Vinh Long 4 aquafeed production plant was awarded the international ASC certification, one of the most prestigious and widely recognized standards in the world.

Additionally, both companies will take part in pilot programs and work on technology transfer, farming area development, and initiatives to succeed in international markets.

"The combination of De Heus' strengths in nutrition and technical solutions with Minh Phu's experience, scale, and processing and export capabilities will create a sustainable value chain for the shrimp industry, from feed and farming techniques to processing and access to international markets," said Johan van den Ban, General Director of De Heus Vietnam and Asia, at the signing ceremony.

Finally, De Heus and Minh Phu are collaborating with the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ca Mau, SAEN Company, and other partners to develop the whiteleg shrimp aquaculture model using RAS-IMTA technology.

This latest initiative will reduce greenhouse gas emissions, minimize environmental pollution, and comply with ASC and BAP standards for export, in accordance with the requirements of the European Union, United States, and Japanese markets.
