Skretting has introduced the new generation of its shrimp feeds, Optiline and Lorica, designed to achieve consistent growth and survival while supporting farm productivity.

Optiline and Lorica incorporate EDGEOS PhytoComplexes for the first time—a blend of bioactive compounds derived from whole plants, specific plant parts—such as leaves, flowers, or stems—or combinations thereof.

These new solutions were developed by Nutreco Exploration, Skretting's team of experts specializing in plant and bacteria research, and offer greater efficacy compared to their predecessors.

Specifically, Lorica supports shrimp resilience and overall health, while Optiline delivers measurable improvements in growth and feed efficiency.

The new formulation also reduces reliance on marine ingredients and minimizes nutrient discharge. It will first be available in Ecuador at the end of 2025.

"Developed in close collaboration with our customers, partners, and Nutreco Exploration, they are exciting and innovative solutions that will help farmers stay ahead, creating real value for the global shrimp industry," concluded Innovation Director for Shrimp at Skretting Aquaculture Innovation Leiner Lache.

In early October, the global aquafeed company announced the launch of Necto, a new plant-based functional fish feed focused on protecting fish health and welfare, which will be available in selected countries from late 2025.
