Pure Salmon Technology will be the new supplier for Lødingen Fisk's new smolt facility in Vestbygda, Nordland, Norway. According to national media, the facility will have a production volume of 15,000 m³ and will include complete fry, smolt, and post-smolt departments and support systems for efficient operations.
"We are happy to share that Lødingen Fisk has signed a collaboration agreement with Pure Salmon Technology. The planned construction is designed to be a modern and flexible facility," reads Pure Salmon's LinkedIn publication.
Pure Salmon RAS technology is based on the moving bed biofilter (MBBR) technology. This is a bioreactor technology developed by Pure Salmon Technology’s predecessor company. Based on the experience of its automation department since 2005, it has developed an automation platform specifically designed for land-based aquaculture.
In 2023, Helgeland Smolt also announced that it would continue its collaboration with the specialist in water treatment for its next smolt facility in Kilvika, Meløy, Norway. Pure Salmon delivers comprehensive electro and automation solutions, process equipment, and support systems for Helgeland smolt's new plant.
Furthermore, the Norwegian technology company announced the acquisition of all intellectual property (IP) assets of Billund Aquaculture Denmark. With this strategic acquisition, Pure Salmon expects to achieve new growth opportunities for the Group.
