Oslo Airport City (OAC) announced it has signed a long-term agreement with Abrahams Salmon Processing KS - a newly established subsidiary of Dirk Abrahams GmbH, a major processing company of Norwegian salmon in Germany -for the establishment of a new processing plant in Gardermoen Business Park.
The announcement noted that this establishment marks a new and important initiative within OAC's seafood cluster, where companies such as Oslo Seafood Center, Gardermoen Perishable Center, Mowi, Grieg Seafood, and Oslo Fryselager are already located, or planning to relocate.
"We are very pleased to welcome Abrahams Salmon Processing KS to Oslo Airport City," said OAC CEO Henrik M. S. Danielsen. "The company will be an important addition to our existing seafood cluster and will help strengthen Gardermoen as Norway's most central hub for processing, distribution, and export of seafood."
"We have built up solid expertise in developing facilities tailored to the seafood industry, and we look forward to realizing this project together with Abrahams," OAC's CEO added.
"For us, it is very attractive to establish ourselves in Oslo Airport City," Hans Kr. Bakken, Managing Director of Abrahams Salmon Processing KS, said, for his part. "We gain a strategic location close to Gardermoen, with short distances to air freight and other logistics that are crucial to our business."
"At the same time, we will have a customized facility that provides an excellent foundation for meeting our customers' needs. OAC has been a professional partner throughout the process, and we look forward to getting started," Abrahams Salmon Processing's Managing Director continued.
According to the statement from Oslo Airport City, Abrahams Salmon Processing's goal in establishing itself in Norway is to fillet salmon for its partners and for its own smoking and processing activities in Germany.
Built by Veidekke Logistikkbygg, the facility will be specially designed for Abrahams' operations and configured for efficient, sustainable, and future-oriented salmon processing. The building will feature high technical standards and will be BREEAM-certified.
The firm responsible for carrying out the work on the new Abrahams Salmon Processing facility at Oslo Airport City is, as mentioned, Veidekke. One of Scandinavia's largest contractors, the company has published a statement confirming that work has already begun.
In the same statement, OAC CEO Henrik M. S. Danielsen reiterated his welcome to Abrahams Salmon Processing at Oslo Airport and emphasized that the Germany-headquartered company is a strong partner that strengthens OAC's seafood and logistics cluster. "Over the years, we have built up specialist expertise in seafood, and we look forward to realizing the new facility in collaboration with Veidekke Logistikkbygg," he added.
"This is the second project in a short time that we have developed together with Oslo Airport City, and it marks a new and important commitment to Gardermoen as Norway's most central hub for processing, distribution and export of seafood. We appreciate the trust and look forward to the journey ahead," said, for his part, Roar Kristiansen, General Manager of Veidekke Logistikkbygg.
Both Oslo Airport City and Veidekke have stated that the facility - which will cover approximately 4,660 square meters and represents a significant investment in the further processing of Norwegian salmon for the international market - is expected to be completed during the third quarter of 2026.
