Norwegian wellboat specialist Frøy AS has announced the appointment of Anders Skaare as the company's new Head of Talent.

Based in Trondheim, Norway, Skaare will lead a newly-formed team responsible for recruitment, onboarding, employer branding, and competence development. His primary role will be to ensure that Frøy attracts and retains competent employees, maintaining the company's competitive edge, Frøy announced.

"The main job will be to ensure that we have competent people who will make us competitive in the future as well," Skaare said in a press release.

"It is both about being visible in the right places with messages that enable us to recruit new people, and we also have to manage and get the best out of the expertise we already have in the organisation. Together, we will lay down an overall strategy and see the broad lines, so that we can extract synergies throughout the organization and build on our motto "One Frøy", Skaare said.

Focus on talent and competence development

Kristin Sugustad, HR Manager at Frøy, said she was confident in Skaare's capabilities. "I am absolutely certain that his background and experience will be an invaluable resource for Frøy and for our ambitions for development and growth. We must ensure that the company is best equipped for the future," she stated.

Skaare brings over 15 years of experience in talent and competence development at If Skadeforsikring and Sparebank 1 SMN. He played a key role in establishing the IF School in Trondheim and led several development programs at Sparebank 1, including onboarding new managers and performance development initiatives.

A father of four, Skaare highlighted the importance of life-work balance. "It is important to recharge outside of work as well, and being with the family is meaningful and gives me energy and joy. We are an active family who find it difficult to sit still, so we have to get out and about to keep the peace in the house," he said.

Skaare further commented that he is looking forward to getting to know Frøy better, and has received a good first impression of the organisation.

"Frøy is in an exciting place, and in the middle of a journey with many interesting and rewarding tasks. My first impression is that there is an extremely forward-looking group working here, who want to achieve something," Skaare said.

"At the job interview I asked what was the best thing about Frøy, and then everyone answered in unison that it was the people. The fact that, through this role, I can contribute to making the people who are already in the organization good, while at the same time ensuring that all new ones become important resources for us in the future, contributed to my being "sold" and knowing that this was the right job for me," he added.

"It will be a challenging and fun journey ahead, with lots of room for learning and development," Skaare said.
