Investment group Torghatten Aqua has announced that Frode Blakstad will become the new interim chairman after CEO Øyvind Løvdahl announced his resignation and will officially step down in the autumn.

Øyvind Løvdahl, who has been the CEO of Torghatten Aqua since April 2023, has resigned from his position as he has accepted a new job at SpareBank 1 SMN in Trondheim, where he will be moving with his family.

Regarding this, Blakstad said: "Øyvind has rigged Torghatten Aqua for further growth and value creation. I would like to thank him for the great and valuable work he has done for us, and wish him good luck with his new home and new job challenges when the time comes."

Additionally, CFO Knut Idar Torgnes will take over as acting site manager for the head office in Toft. "I am pleased that Knut Idar, who knows the daily life at Toft very well, has agreed to take over as site manager. I am sure that will be a very good solution," concluded Blakstad.

In 2024, Torghatten Aqua bought up 66% of shares in Norwegian seafood consultancy INAQ, with the remaining 34% taken over by its employees. Moreover, Torghatten Aqua is itself partly owned by Norwegian aquaculture firm Nova Sea.

"Now we are ready to take the next step in repositioning the company for the future. We do this by bringing in new investors who want to build a strong bridge between the past and the future of the company," assured Blakstad at that moment.
