Honest Catch, a sustainable seafood distributor operating out of Munich, Germany, has appointed Sepita Ansari as its new CEO.

A marketing specialist with his own consultancy in addition to working as a university lecturer in the subject, Ansari announced his new role at Honest Catch in a LinkedIn post, highlighting his passion for sustainability and support for animal welfare.

"I look forward to decisively shaping and developing the field of "sustainable" fish purchasing in the DACH region together with the talented team of HONEST CATCH," Ansari wrote.

Outgoing Honest Catch CEO Fabian Riedel will now focus on his other business project, as CEO of land-based shrimp farming start-up Oceanloop.

"As founder, co-partner and new chairman of the advisory board, I will continue to support HONEST CATCH with all my strength in the future, especially since our companies are closely connected not only geographically, but also due to the supply of the Bavarian shrimp," Riedel wrote in a German-language LinkedIn post announcing the appointment.

"At Oceanloop, as founder and CEO, I will work with our CTO Bert Wecker to drive the scaling of our land-based aquaculture in Munich, Kiel and internationally and am very much looking forward to realizing the vision of our two companies," he added.
