The aquatech firm Innovasea has announced the hiring of Miguel Martin to join its recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) design team. Previously, Martin has worked at Norwegian RAS design companies Nofitech and Pure Salmon Technology.

The new system designer has participated in projects that cover the entire salmon production process for farms worldwide, including in Norway, Scotland, Japan, the Faroe Islands, Brunei, and the United States.

Regarding this appointment, Innovasea Managing Director, Juan Pablo Barrales, said: "Miguel brings invaluable experience in designing large-scale systems for salmon production. We are excited to welcome him to the team and leverage his insights."

Additionally, Martin expressed: "I love the challenge of understanding and solving each farm's unique needs with a custom solution to help them achieve their goals. The Chilean market represents an incredible opportunity for aquaculture growth, and I’m excited to help drive that progress."

In 2024, the University of Miami’s Aquaculture Program at the Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science has partnered with Innovasea to design and implement a state-of-the-art RAS system.
