

Kjell Lorentsen will serve as interim CEO until 31 July 2026.
Gigante Salmon has announced that Kristian Lorentsen will succeed Kjell Lorentsen as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), after the latter informed the Board of his decision to step down from his position.
The Norwegian company has entered into a termination agreement effective 1 May 2026, and Kjell Lorentsen has confirmed that he is available as a candidate for the Board at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.
Kristian Lorentsen has held various positions, ranging from Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to working at cage farming facilities. He has also been a member of the Board of Directors since 2024.
"The company values his relevant experience, strong motivation, and the continuity of the owners' commitment to the company. The Board has worked intensively on the executive appointment process and has been supported by external consultants," said Board Chair Liv Monica Stubholt.
Regarding this announcement, Kristian Lorentsen said: I have the coast and the seafood industry in my blood and have spent my whole life in and around salmon farming. The company's mission is to address the sustainability challenges facing the industry."
"I accepted the position because I know I will be working with a strong team whom I am proud to call colleagues. The office can plan and manage, but it is the people on the ground who make it happen," he added.
As Kristian Lorentsen is currently on parental leave, he will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer of Gigante Salmon and the operating company Gigante Salmon Rødøy as of 1 May. Meanwhile, Kjell Lorentsen will serve as interim CEO until 31 July 2026.
Finally, Kjell Lorentsen stated: "When I returned as CEO in 2024, I promised to lead the company through the construction of the Rosøya project. The facility has now received its completion certificate, and it is time to hand over the reins."
