The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) has announced that its Director in Spain and Portugal, Laura Rodríguez, will be the new Head of Species Strategies and Pathways.

According to the Council, Rodríguez will focus on advancing the most strategic species for our program, including tuna, whitefish, and small pelagics, among others.

Also, she will strengthen the global strategy of the pre-certification pathways projects that are being developed around the world, such as the Mediterranean with Medfish.

"We want to express our deepest gratitude to Laura for her 13 years of exceptional dedication in establishing and consolidating the MSC office in Spain. We wish her every success in her new and exciting responsibility," a post on MSC's LinkedIn profile reads.

On the other hand, the Spaniard wrote: "I feel very fortunate to have led the opening of the office and the launch of the MSC program in Spain and Portugal and its development over the past 13 years, during which we have undoubtedly contributed to advancing sustainable fishing in the Iberian region."

"I am very excited to take on new challenges in the global MSC team and to contribute my experience to the organization's strategy. Thank you for your support over the years, and I hope we stay in touch in my new responsibilities starting in September," she concluded.
