Hendrix Genetics, the leading multi-species animal breeding company headquartered in the Netherlands, has announced the appointment of Juan Pablo Barrales as Global Commercial Director of the Salmonids Business Unit. Based in Chile, he will be responsible for sales, logistics, and technical support.
In the release announcing his appointment, Hendrix Genetics said that, in his new role, Barrales will assume strategic management of all Landcatch and Troutlodge products and services, serving customers in more than 65 countries.
Landcatch is the salmon breeding genetics brand of Hendrix Genetics, which supplies customers worldwide with high-quality salmon eggs and smolts. Troutlodge, for its part, is the world's leading producer of rainbow trout eggs, supplying more than 500 million eggs each year to customers in over 60 countries.
The work of the new Commercial Director of the Salmonids Business Unit in Hendrix Genetics will be focused on strengthening customer relationships, improving operational efficiency and reinforcing the company's international presence in a highly competitive and constantly evolving sector, such as aquaculture.
With a solid track record in the salmon industry and a deep understanding of the aquaculture market, Juan Pablo Barrales brings more than 25 years of experience in the Chilean aquaculture sector, during which he has held high-level management positions in international companies.
In its announcement, Hendrix Genetics highlighted that it did so "combining leadership and technical expertise across the aquaculture sector."
Among those management positions, the release highlighted, for example, his more than five years as Managing Director of Innovasea in Chile, a role he left in November of last year to begin his journey at Hendrix Genetics as Business Development Manager Salmonids for Latin America, a position from which he has now been promoted.
"Barrales' appointment reflects Hendrix Genetics' ongoing commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and the development of internal talent," the company said to conclude its announcement.
In addition to his roles in private companies, Juan Pablo Barrales' resume also includes a position as a member of the Board of Directors of the Chilean salmon industry association, SalmonChile, a role he held representing Innovasea for over three and a half years.
