The Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) has appointed five new board members during this year's general meeting. Also, two of the current members, Trond Tuvstein and Knut Helge Vestre, have been re-elected for two new terms.
Specifically, Olav Holst-Dyrnes is the new chairman of the board, and Gunvor Collier is the new vice-chairwoman. The other new members are Stine Ytterstad (Kverva AS, Sjøfrisk Norge AS), Ola Brattvoll (Ytterstad Fiskeriselskap), and Anne-Beth Skrede (MOWI and LO).
Regarding these appointments, Minister of Fisheries and the Oceans Marianne Sivertsen Næss said: "The new board has broad and solid knowledge of the seafood industry and other areas that are important to steer the Seafood Council safely through turbulent times. This is going to be very good."
Those stepping down from their positions are Hildegunn Fure Osmundsvåg (Star Seafood), Anne Hilde Midttveit (Lerøy), Solveig Strand (Strand Rederi), as well as Vice Chairman Amund Drønen Ringdal and Chairwoman Marianne E. Johnsen.
"We are very much looking forward to welcoming the new board members. At the same time, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing members, who have been invaluable supporters of the Seafood Council. It has been a great pleasure to work with them, and we greatly appreciate their valuable contributions to our work," expressed Christian Chramer, CEO of the NSC.
After ten consecutive months of growth, Norwegian seafood exports decreased in May. Despite this decline, the year-to-date value of Norwegian seafood exports has grown by 5%. Seafood products worth NOK 72 billion were exported, an increase of NOK 3.6 billion compared to the same period last year.
