Scotland's turnkey aquaculture equipment, technology, and service supply partner, Gael Force Group, announced the appointment of Sigurður Steinþórsson and Alessandro Ciattaglia as its new Sales Managers to support the company's strategic growth and development plans and strengthen their position in international markets.

Hired following a selective recruitment campaign in search of highly qualified profiles, the company said these appointments represent a significant step forward to support the growing demand for its equipment, technology, and services in export markets, in line with its strategic and considered approach to export growth.

Gael Force focuses its export strategy on both developing innovative solutions and establishing and fostering trusted relationships within the aquaculture market, where there is a growing demand for them. At the same time, the company also maintains a commitment to having a strong local presence to provide ongoing support and innovative solutions to its customers, wherever they are.

With an established presence in Scotland - one of its most striking projects was the upcycling of Mowi Scotland's Sea-Cap feed barges at Loch Etive last year - the Scottish aquaculture equipment and technology supplier is currently focused on export markets including Iceland, the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and North Africa. As such, it has chosen its two new Sales Managers not only for their high qualification, but also for their extensive experience in the markets they will be managing.

Thus, in addition to a wealth of experience, Sigurður Steinþórsson also brings extensive knowledge of the aquaculture sector in Iceland. Meanwhile, Alessandro Ciattaglia, who has many years of sales experience in the marine and aquaculture sectors, will be responsible for serving customers in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa (EMENA). Both of them have already taken up their new positions.

According to the Gael Force release, both will be instrumental in identifying new opportunities, continuing to drive product innovation to meet market demand, building and maintaining strong relationships with international customers, and delivering value to stakeholders in line with the company's long-term export strategy.

"We are delighted to welcome Siggi and Alessandro to the Gael Force team," Jamie Young, Group Sales Director of Gael Force Group, said. "These appointments reflect our continued commitment to sustainable, carefully managed export growth and further demonstrate our dedication to the wider aquaculture industry. With their combined expertise and deep understanding of their respective countries, we are confident they will play a pivotal role in expanding our presence globally," he added.

With a total workforce of around 150 employees, in addition to its headquarters and main engineering facilities located in Inverness, Gael Force Group also has other manufacturing and assembly facilities across Scotland in the Highlands and Islands, Argyll, and Moray.

This now also includes the remaining trout farming assets of Dawnfresh Farming, which Mowi had not integrated into its Scottish salmon farming operations, and which it sold last April to SeaQureFarming Group Ltd., a new company set up by Gael Force Group founder and CEO Stewart Graham. The aim is to use it for the development of a new semi-closed containment farming system.
