The Ministry of Production (Produce) in Peru has confirmed that in 2024, over 3,200 tons of hydrobiological products and more than 2.6 million cans of fish preserves were sold, benefiting 2.2 million families through the National Program A Comer Pescado (Let's Eat Fish).

This program aims to promote the consumption of fish and hydrobiological products throughout the country to improve nutrition and food security in Peru.

Over 9,300 fairs promoting hydrobiological products have been held, where educational and promotional activities have informed the public about the health benefits of fish and its role in a balanced diet.

Regarding this initiative, the Minister of Production, Sergio González, emphasized the importance of these actions and stated: "Our commitment is to ensure that more families have access to high-quality hydrobiological products at affordable prices, while also promoting the development of artisanal fishing and strengthening the country's production chains."

The goal of A Comer Pescado is to continue expanding the reach of these initiatives in 2025, bringing more fish to more tables across the country.
