Spain supports women's integration and research in the aquaculture sector

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in Spain has announced grants worth 550,000 euros to achieve greater integration of women and promote research and technological development in the aquaculture sector.

These grants are intended for national associative entities and national legal entities whose social objective is to promote industrial research, technological development, R&D projects, or the defense of the economic and professional interests of women working in the sector.

In this way, the Spanish government aims to strengthen the representative role of these associations in line with the General State Administration, the European Union, and international institutions.

In April, the Ministry also presented the XXIII edition of the 'Jacumar' Award which promotes aquaculture research and strengthens relationships between the scientific community and the production sector.

The awarded works will receive 20,000 euros for its environmental, social, consumer protection, and animal welfare aspects. All this will allow to increase the presence of aquaculture products in the markets.
