Spanish Secretary-General for Fisheries, under the Spanish Women Association of the Fishing Sector, celebrates International Women's Day. The aim is to make visible the role of women in aquaculture and seafood industries.

The publication "Women of the sea, inspiring vocations" seeks to promote a meditation about generational change, one of the main challenges facing the sector at the moment. Women from different aquaculture and fisheries organizations give their opinions and solutions for these challenges and more.

In addition, a commemorative poster has been distributed under the slogan "Women of the sea, for a sustainable future". This promotes women's contribution to the fishing sector's sustainability through its social, economic, and environmental aspects. Also, it goes in line with the UNs theme for this year's celebration; gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow.

Spanish Women Association of the Fishing Sector (REMSP, its initials in Spanish) is a platform promoted by the Secretary-General for Fisheries of Spain. Their goal is planning and management integration and equality policies in the sector. Finally, they promote communication, exchange of experiences, and good practices among the professionals who work in this field of activity.
