Hyperthermics AS has announced the appointment of Erik S. Paulsen as its new CFO. He starts in August and will work closely with the organization, the board, and shareholders to help drive the company's development forward.
Previously, Paulsen was Partner and CFO in Cardo Partners, where he has been for the past nine years. Also, he worked at Arkwright. In addition, he holds an MSc in Finance and Economics from NHH in Bergen. As a consultant, he has worked with varied issues from operational improvement to strategy and M&A in several industries.
Regarding the appointment, Erlend Haugsbø, CEO of Hyperthermics said: "With Erik, we get the commercial edge we need in the growth phase that the company is entering. We look forward to having him in place on the team and wish him a warm welcome to the Hyperthermics team."
Hyperthermics AS is a Norwegian biotechnological company with its head office in Ulsteinvik, Norway, and a laboratory in Regensburg, Germany. Firstly, the business idea is to develop and construct fast-working plants for breaking down and converting different types of biomass in processes at an operating temperature of 80°C, based on micro-organisms and bacteria from extreme environments beneath the seabed.
The benefits are commercial products with a green profile, for example, protein powder, biogas, and soil improving agents. As a customer-orientated specialist, it is heavily focused on R&D and proximity to the individual customer and operating organization.
Finally, Hyperthermics' founder, Jan Remmereit, had long been interested in geology's early stages of life. This helped him with his biology work, searching for sulfur substituted omega-3 fatty acids – an anaerobic version of omega 3, adapted to oxygen-free environments and metabolisms.
