Øyvind Fylling-Jensen announced today on social media that he concluded his career as CEO of Nofima, the Norwegian Institute of Food, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Research.
"I have had the pleasure of leading the institute since 2009 and I'm proud that Nofima is well positioned to work on assisting the industry towards a future of sustainable and resilient food systems. My successor, Dr. Bente Torstensen, will continue the great work of Nofima," stated Fylling-Jensen.
The Managing Director/CEO of Nofima a bids farewell after a remarkable career behind him. Educated as a veterinarian in Germany in 1981, he went on to pursue a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and gained experience as an assistant professor at the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science. For that reason, he has a wide range of expertise in biotechnology, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, and aquaculture.
Before this position, he held notable roles. Vice-CEO of Dynal, Managing Director of Fürst Medical Laboratory, Sales- and Marketing Director of Alpharma, and overseen global aquaculture activities for Fjord Seafood, among others.
Fylling-Jensen closed his post by thanking everyone for their work experience. "I would like to express my gratitude to all colleagues, industry partners, and professionals I have met and worked with over the years. It has been a great experience. I will now spend my time serving at several boards as non-executive director/chair, sharing my experience and knowledge."
