Saudi international aquaculture exhibition kicks off on Sunday

SIMEC Aquafish 2024, the first diversified marine exhibition in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, will kick off on Sunday 4th February and will be held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center.

International exhibitors working in the fields of fisheries, aquaculture, and seafood will take part in the exhibition. Also, marine tourism and various marine industries agents.

According to the organization, aquaculture production in the kingdom has increased significantly. Therefore, the volume of domestic demand for fish wealth in the Kingdom reaches 383 thousand tons annually, with 14,865 fishing boats and 30,370 workers working on it.

"The Kingdom's 2030 vision for achieving sustainable development in the fisheries development sector is one of the most important goals. Future investments in aquaculture will exceed 17 billion Saudi riyals by 2030," the organization's website reads.

At the 2023 edition, more than 10,000 visitors attended, with over 100 local and international exhibitors participating from 35 countries. Also, 2,500 Saudi businessmen were gathered and 15 government sectors were involved.
