Christian Sørensen, founder of Billund Aquaculture, which closed down this year after almost four decades in business, has begun a new venture focused on RAS.

Moreover, the Norwegian company has also secured exclusive rights to purchase Billund Aquaculture Australia and Billund Aquaculture Chile.

Billund was the original contractor on the project to build the 6,000-ton post-smolt facility in Årdal, Vestland county, Norway.

The Danish RAS technology firm, founded in 1986, says it "deeply regrets having to take the decision but, unfortunately, there are no other options".

He is succeeding Sørensen who will stay in the company occupying an advisory role.
