Tailored to the needs of the Norwegian salmon company, the solution enables automatic gender sorting and health inspection of smolt in a single process.
"The recent algal bloom, and now the ISA outbreak, are greatly affecting our operations. We are now working to reduce the consequences," said Nordlaks CEO, Eirik Welde.
The closed fish farming facility, designed by NSK Ship Design, is being constructed by Gemak shipyard in Turkey, with Maritime Montering now contracted as outfitter.
As part of its "large smolt" strategy, the family-owned salmon farming company has already purchased a site in Rødskjær, Troms County, and plans to begin construction in 2027.
