Deep Trekker and Underwater Contracting Ltd. (UCO) have partnered to offer technology solutions to fish farmers and aquaculture agents across Scotland, North and South America, and Europe.

Deep Trekker's advanced underwater Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) systems, which allow operators to efficiently manage day-to-day tasks like net inspection, stock monitoring, and biofouling control, will be integrated with UCO's Foover Mortality Recovery System and NetFix system.

This initiative will create a productive technologies synergy so fish farms can benefit from enhanced operational tools for monitoring, recovery, and maintenance.

UCO's specialized technologies

The Foover Mortality Recovery System from UCO offers positive confirmation of recovered mortality through visual evidence and video recordings. As a result, operators have access to a transparent and accountable method for mortality management. The Foover has completed over 200,000 dives in the field.

On the other hand, the NetFix system uses plastic patches to repair small holes in cage nets caused by predators or equipment snags. These patches, which fit flush with the net, allow for continuous washing and easy removal by dive teams when required. This helps contain the stock until permanent repairs are completed.
