Benchmark Genetics has announced that Juan Pablo Ramírez is the new General Manager of Benchmark Genetics Chile. He is replacing Berta Contreras, who has spent 11 months in the role.

Berta Contreras Mutis assumed the role in September 2023 replacing Pablo Mazo, who became Performance and Documentation Manager at Benchmark Genetics in Norway.

Ramírez has over thirteen years of experience in the aquaculture sector. He has occupied several managerial and leadership positions across the entire production chain, from freshwater operations to commercial areas.

Regarding this hiring, the new General Manager stated: "I am very pleased to join an international company like this, a global leader in the production of Atlantic salmon eggs. I believe that in Chile, we still have a lot to achieve in terms of sharing with customers the excellent results achieved with quality products, high performance, and high biosecurity."

On the other hand, Geir Olav Melingen, Director of Benchmark Genetics, expressed: "He is a professional with extensive industry experience and all the necessary capabilities to continue expanding the company's presence in the country."

A couple of months ago, Benchmark presented its unaudited interim results for its Q2 2024 and H1 2014 where it spoke of the "good visibility of revenue" in Genetics, highlighting in particular what it described as "excellent progress" in Chile.
