The leading frozen food company Nomad Foods announced yesterday the appointment of Simon Ball as its new President UK & Ireland, effective 23 March 2026. A veteran of the food industry, he will report directly to CEO Dominic Brisby and become a member of the Executive Team.
In the release announcing his appointment, Nomad Foods said of its new hire that he is a prominent and highly experienced business leader who has held multiple leadership positions in the food and retail sectors.
After holding senior positions at Greencore, M&S, IPL, and William Jackson Food Group, he most recently served as Managing Director of Ornua Foods UK and Europe, where he oversaw a major commercial and operational transformation and was part of the Global Commercial Leadership Team.
In welcoming him to the company, all of this experience was highlighted by Nomad Foods' newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, Dominic Brisby, who was named in November and, following a transition period alongside his predecessor Stéfan Descheemaeke, took over when the latter retired on January 1 this year.
"Simon brings a wealth of commercial expertise, strategic clarity, and leadership strength to our UK & Ireland business. His track record of driving growth, leading complex teams and delivering sustainable performance makes him the right leader for this next chapter," Brisby highlighted.
"In particular, Simon's leadership will support our commitment to strengthening our commercial foundations, improving focus and agility, and unlocking meaningful value creation opportunities that lie ahead. I'm delighted to welcome him to Nomad Foods and to my Executive Team," the company's CEO stated.
"I'm delighted to be joining Nomad Foods at such an important moment for the business," Simon Ball said, for his part. "With market-leading brands and strong foundations to build from, there is tremendous potential ahead."
"I look forward to working with the team to help accelerate the progress already underway and ensure our brands continue to deliver exceptional value for consumers and customers across the UK & Ireland," added the new President of Nomad Foods at UK & Ireland.
Europe's largest frozen food company, whose portfolio includes iconic brands such as Birds Eye, Findus, Iglo, Ledo, and Frikom, said that in his new role, Ball will be responsible for leading Nomad Foods' portfolio of iconic brands in the United Kingdom and Ireland, including Birds Eye, Aunt Bessie's, and Goodfella's.
