Krijn Verwijs Yerseke BV from the Netherlands, and Offshore Shellfish collaborate to produce pre-cooked mussel dishes. These are sold alongside its fresh, live, offshore mussels.
Regarding this partnership, John Holmyard, Offshore Shellfish founder and managing director said: "The new collaboration will be of great benefit to both businesses and will make our mussels available to consumers across Europe and further afield."
Offshore Shellfish is a family-run business, founded by John and Nicki Holmyard, who have been involved in the mussel and seafood industries for more than 30 years.
We are building the UK's first large-scale, fully offshore, rope-cultured mussel farm off the coast of South Devon, in a challenging marine environment. The offshore location and the size of the farms enable the mussels to be cultivated at low density, which is beneficial for quality, rate of growth, and meat content.
