The Norwegian Seafood Council says the $22bn US sushi market means growing opportunities for Norwegian aquaculture producers, but innovation as well as communication on food safety are key.
Its subsidiary, Japan Salmon Farm Co., will set up the new venture through a joint investment with Hiyama Fisheries Cooperative Association and Yakumo Town.
The four Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) will maintain stable water quality, ensure operational reliability, and provide a high level of control over all critical parameters.
