Biotechnology company Veramaris, which specialises in producing alternative marine ingredients for animal feed, has announced the appointment of Elin Kvamme as its new Business Development Manager for Norway and the Nordics.
According to the company, in a post shared on its LinkedIn profile, Kvamme holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine and has extensive experience in animal nutrition and feed ingredients for the aquaculture industry.
She has also demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainable aquaculture, which will help strengthen the company’s work with customers and partners across the value chain.
Regarding her new role, she said: "Demand for Omega-3 and EPA in aquaculture continues to grow. By producing EPA-rich microalgae, Veramaris offers a sustainable and scalable solution that can help meet the industry's growing nutritional needs."
In March, the Netherlands-based company received the first-ever NASF Sustainability Award at the North Atlantic Seafood Forum in Bergen, with the organisers recognising its work in developing algae-based omega-3 ingredients for aquaculture feed.
"I look forward to supporting farmers in understanding where and how this product can create the greatest value, while building long-term relationships with farmers and feed companies that are essential for sustainable collaboration and growth," she added.
Finally, Veramaris concluded its announcement by welcoming Elin to the team, saying: "We are delighted to have you on board and look forward to shaping the future of sustainable aquaculture together."
