Just three months after appointing a new Commercial Director—Chris Beattie joined the company in May—Poseidon Ocean Systems has also announced the appointment of a new Commercial Manager for Chile. According to the Canadian company, Sergio Cárcamo will continue to strengthen its close collaboration with fish producers across the country.
Industrial Civil Engineer, with an MBA and a Master's degree in Information Technology and Innovation, as highlighted in its announcement by the aquaculture technology company, Cárcamo has more than 20 years of professional experience.
His long career highlights include his recent years at Cermaq Chile, where he held various leadership positions in the Los Lagos and Aysén regions, including Operations Manager and Deputy Operations and Services Manager.
Of its new Commercial Manager in Chile, Poseidon said that his deep understanding of aquaculture operations and the needs of fish farming sites will be instrumental in driving solutions that deliver greater efficiency, operational continuity, and sustainability for his customers.
"His vision reinforces our commitment to a consultative commercial approach built on close partnerships, technical expertise, and the ability to transform production challenges into solutions with measurable impact," the company commented on LinkedIn.
We learned about one of those partnerships back in March when Poseidon Ocean Systems announced that its Chilean division was partnering with Kran Nanobubble, focusing on environmental and production management in Chile's salmon farming sector.
"This strategic alliance seeks to offer salmon producers a comprehensive and preventive model of environmental management that combines life support in the water column and maintenance of the seabed during the production cycle," Poseidon Ocean Systems said then, adding that both companies "seek to provide greater operational certainty in a context of growing regulatory and environmental demands for the industry."
Sergio Cárcamo's technical-commercial profile seems to fit perfectly with that idea of providing greater operational certainty to the customers.
Poseidon Ocean Systems' new Commercial Manager replaces Mauricio Cerda Rosemberg, whom the company's subsidiary in Chile thanked through a LinkedIn post for his commitment, leadership and enthusiasm in contributing to the growth and positioning of the Canadian company in the country.
The former Poseidon executive is now Managing Director of Alotta, a Norwegian energy company that seeks to boost its growth in Chile through solutions that integrate renewable generation, battery storage and intelligent energy management for off-grid operations such as fish farms.
Cerda, who also used LinkedIn to take stock of his more than five years as Commercial Manager of Poseidon Ocean Systems Chile, stated that he leaves behind "a solid team and a company that has experienced significant growth during this time, establishing itself as a leading player in technology, efficiency, and innovation."
Cárcamo's appointment as his replacement is Poseidon's third in recent months. Following the previously mentioned naming of Chris Beattie as the new Commercial Director, Josien Bakker was also appointed in May as a new member of the Board of Directors, and more recently, at the end of June, Raphael Floriano was named as its new Technical Procurement Specialist.
