Cooke's subsidiary Bioriginal, which delivers solutions to the food and nutraceutical industries, announced this week the appointment of Randy Fournier as its new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Following a planned leadership transition, he succeeds Shannon Sears, who has led the company for nearly five years and will support his successor during the transition to ensure organizational continuity.
Fournier, whom the company describes in the statement about his appointment as "a seasoned global executive," brings to the position more than 30 years of leadership experience in complex manufacturing and processing companies with multiple locations.
According to Bioriginal, its new President and CEO has a proven track record of driving operational transformations, expanding organizations, and achieving disciplined growth in North America and international markets, something that Glenn Cooke, CEO of Cooke Inc., also highlighted when commenting on Fournier's appointment.
"Randy brings deep experience, strong values, and a clear commitment to our people, customers, and partners," Cooke said. "He will focus on building upon Bioriginal's strengths, and he is well positioned to lead the company into its next chapter of growth."
The leadership change comes at a time of strong momentum for Bioriginal, as the wholly-owned subsidiary of Cooke has strengthened its vertically integrated global platform and expanded through strategic acquisitions in recent years, positioning the business to continue innovating. From its headquarters in Saskatoon, Canada, it manages facilities in Canada, the United States, Europe, and Asia.
The international dimension of the business and the team he will now lead were the first things Randy Fournier mentioned when commenting on his appointment. "I am honoured to take on this role at Bioriginal and to work alongside such a capable and dedicated global team," he said.
"Bioriginal will continue to invest in expanding capacity, enhancing product quality, and improving operational efficiency. With a connected global platform spanning ingredient sourcing to finished formats, Bioriginal is well positioned to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions to its partners across the human and animal nutrition industries," the company's new President and CEO added.
With 30 years of global experience, Bioriginal Food & Science Corp. is one of the world's leading suppliers of omega-3-6-9 products, organic proteins, and nutraceuticals for the human and pet nutrition industries.
The company has developed a niche by scientifically combining ingredients from around the world, directly from the source, to create innovative and effective solutions, such as the sustainable line of omega-3 fish, algal, and plant-based oils developed with POS Biosciences technology, another of Bioriginal's strategic acquisitions.
