Norwegian trade minister Cecilie Myrseth says modernising the EFTA–Canada trade agreement could expand opportunities for various industrial sectors.

Norway has participated in the UN Ocean Conference in Barcelona and held bilateral meetings with both countries.

"Good connections between sea and land are important for both businesses and national preparedness," said Cecilie Myrseth.

The new agreement provides tariff-free access for Norwegian fish vaccines.

The deal includes mutual access to fish in each other's economic zones, as well as an exchange of fishing quotas.
