The Sustainable Shrimp Partnership (SSP) has announced the addition of Banco Guayaquil, Kampi, and Kemin AquaScience as new partners to collaborate on the development of a sustainable shrimp industry.
The SSP brings together companies from across the value chain to work collaboratively through working groups and joint projects, addressing the sector challenges, finding new solutions, and improving its development.
Regarding these additions, SSP Director Pamela Nath said: "Their inclusion strengthens the diversity and depth of our platform. Each brings a unique perspective and set of capabilities that enrich our dialogue and enable us to move toward more comprehensive and ambitious solutions."
Additionally, Vice President of Corporate Banking and Value Chain at Banco Guayaquil, Fernando Coronel, indicated: "By joining the SSP, we reaffirm our vision that sustainability is an opportunity for growth and competitiveness, and we remain committed to being active partners to Ecuador's shrimp industry."
Meanwhile, Kampi's Managing Director, Eduardo Arosemena, emphasized the importance of technological innovation: "The adoption of technologies such as artificial intelligence has already proven its value in the sector, enabling more precise and reliable decision-making. Joining the SSP allows us to align this vision with other stakeholders who are committed to the same goal."
Finally, Kemin AquaScience’s Regional Technical Director, José Duarte, added: "Joining the SSP has been more than a partnership—it has meant joining a cause that inspires us and challenges us to transform the way we produce shrimp, with responsibility, transparency, and respect for what truly matters: our planet and the generations that will inherit it."
Already on this list are Adisseo, BIOLAN, and Cargill, which formalized their participation in the Sustainable Shrimp Partnership in 2024. Additionally, the Dutch food and biochemicals company Corbion joined the SSP in May of this year.
